Boondall Veterinary Surgery

Meet the vets and nurses behind the care at Boondall Veterinary Surgery

Dr Darryl Bates - BVSc

Dr Darryl Bates Darryl has been a vet at Boondall since graduating in 1987. Over the years he has spent time away from  the practice working in an after-hours facility, and being the hospital manager of a veterinary specialist  practice but is now working full time at Boondall.

He and his family of wife and 3 children cohabitate with an Abyssian cat and a minature Dachshund.

Darryl looks forward to seeing you at the surgery when you come in.

Dr Julie Daniels - BVSc

Meet our newest veterinarian (new here but very experienced), Julie Daniels!

Julie is the same vintage as Darryl, graduating from UQ in 1987. Regularly working Mondays, she  has a special interest in dental and skin problems. She is a valued asset in skills and knowledge  for the practice.

Two beagles Bepsi and Bijou run Julie's household, kept in line by her resuced cats Bruce, Cilla  and Treacle.

Dylan Salter - Veterinary Nurse

Dylan Salter Dylan is one of our full time Veterinary nurses currently studying Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. He  joined the Boondall Veterinary team in 2009, originally as a work experience student, and hopes one day  to fulfill his dream of employment with the Police Dog Squad.

Originally from Brisbane, he has lived all over the East coast of Australia and even had a short stint in  Papua New Guinea.

From a young age Dylan has had a passion for animals, always eager to help an animal in need. He currently owns an Ash Tabby called ‘Dace’ that continually shadows him in the hope of getting more food.

Jasmin Christensen - Veterinary Nurse

Jasmin has been a veterinary nurse with Boondall since 2013 although if you don't recognise her it's probably becasue she never has the same hair colour for too long!

Jasmin has completed her certificate III in Animal Studies (veterinary nursing stream) and has always known that she wanted to work with animals.

When she is not at work, she loves hanging out with her Staffy cross 'Ruger', rainbow lorikeet 'Lucifer' and fiancĂ© Aaron.

*Note - The car Jasmin is in for her photograph is parked. All dogs must be appropriately secured when driving for safety reasons.
